Autograph Session On Friday, Feb. 26

The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame again will celebrate Black History Month, the February program in which the organization joins the annual celebration of the achievements and contributions African-Americans have made in American history.

Now in its fourth year, the Packers Hall of Fame's Black History Month again will culminate with a panel discussion, and also include a new video about the history of African-American players in the NFL and with the Packers. Highlighted exhibits, booklets to accompany visits and an autograph session are also a part of the festivities.

The annual panel discussion, set for Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6:30 p.m., will feature Packers all-time leading rusher Ahman Green, along with former players Willie Davis and Dave Robinson. Topics will include the contributions of African-Americans to the game of football as a whole, as well as to the success of the Packers.

An autograph session, featuring Packers Hall of Famers Davis (also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame) and Robinson, will be held Friday, Feb. 26, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Hall of Fame's lobby in the lower level of the Atrium. It is free to the public.

Visitors to the Hall of Fame will be given a booklet that will serve as their guide while touring the facility. It will provide a history of African-American players in professional football as a whole, as well as provide information on many notable African-American Packers players and coaches, including Bob Mann (1950-54), the first African-American player ever to see action in a Packers' regular-season game.

Green and gold ribbons will be placed throughout the Hall's exhibits to recognize the many African-American players, especially those who have been enshrined as members of the Packers Hall of Fame.

The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Hours may vary on gamedays and holidays. Cost is $10 for adults; $8 for seniors (62 and older), military (with valid military ID), student (with college student ID) and youth (12-17); $5 for children (6-11); and children 5 and under are free. Group pricing is available for schools and other groups; for more information, contact the Hall of Fame at 920/569-7512. Information also is available online by clicking here.
