Packers' 'Training Camp For Seniors' Set For Nov. 13 At Hutson Center

BART AND CHERRY STARR TO HOST EVENT
The Green Bay Packers, along with SecureHorizons by UnitedHealthcare, is presenting Training Camp for Seniors with Bart and Cherry Starr, Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Don Hutson Center.
The free event for all Medicare beneficiaries and members of the general public will feature the Starrs and a full day of activities and programs to help seniors live healthier lives.
The main program, to be delivered once in the morning and once in the afternoon, will feature a welcome to the event and a talk from Bart and Cherry Starr.
"We are looking forward to catching up with our friends in Green Bay and sharing what we have learned about how our SecureHorizons coverage has helped us stay healthy and active," said Bart Starr.
Bellin Health, the Official Healthcare Partner of the Packers, also will participate and offer an activity stage that will feature interactive fitness demonstrations (Tai chi, stretching) and informational talks throughout the day. Flu shots will be provided - while supplies last - and other health checks such as measuring blood pressure, lung capacity and bone density heel scan screening will be available.
Training camp attendees will be able to have their cholesterol and glucose checked, learn about chiropractic care, healthy cooking tips, visit with tour agencies offering trips for seniors, and learn more about their Medicare and the full range of Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plans available in the Green Bay area.
A booth featuring the Nintendo Wii video game also promises to be an exciting area for attendees. The electronic game is increasingly being used to strengthen mental and physical health, and is becoming very popular with seniors.
Attendees also will get a chance to test some of their football skills with a selection of inflatable games. A bingo break area is planned, as well as a drawing for a Bart Starr-autographed football.
